08-26-2009: Kevin Isherwood picked up his first win of the Fall. Souvenirs trailed by 4 in the third and put together 5 runs with a two out walk by Leonard Warren(1-3;R;BB) ignited the scoring. Nick Petrie hit a 3-run line shot over the left field fence. Travis Young followed with his third home run of Fall Ball in the 4th putting the Souvenirs up7-4. Mike Kuck hit his third home run of fall in the 5th. Cole J. Young(2-3;2R;2B;3B;BB;SB) stole home in the 6th for the game winning run. Corey Freuen 2-4 with a RBI double and 2 runs scored.

08-20-2009:
For the third summer in a row the Spokane Souvenirs are City Champions.
The Yak beat the Generals last night 9-3 on an outstanding two-hitter by Joey Bell. Although the season for the Souvenirs started out at a 1-5 mark, due to work conflicts and injuries to key players, the Souvenirs put together 12 straight wins to finish league at 14-6. The Generals were also 14-6, but lost the head to head match up 3 games to 1. Last night was also the first night of Fall Ball for the Souvenirs who played nine innings vs. the Pig Dogs, winning 19-6. Mike Kuck and Travis Young hit 2 Home Runs a piece on the night. Taylor Contos, Leonard Warren, and Cole J. Young also went deep. Rob Herzog and Kevin Isherwood combined to strike out 6 batters.


08-12-2009: Souvenirs finish the season winning 13 of its final 14 games behind Kevin Isherwood's pitching performance Monday night. Kevin allowed two runs in the first inning and 3 unearned runs in the second in route to a 17-6 win. Mike Kuck and Eric Kelly went deep and Bob Kuck had 2 triples on the night. Taylor Contos' RBI in the first proved to be the game winning RBI. The Souvenirs await the final game between the Yak and Generals (14-5) to see if they have won their third straight summer league title.

08-07-2009: Mike Kuck homers in Souvenir 16-1 win Wednesday night at Franklin Park. In the first inning the Souvenirs scored 7 straight runs on 9 hits and 3 walks. Nick Petrie(2-2;3R;1RBI;BB) hit an RBI single and Mike Kuck(3-3;2R;6RBI;HR) went deep to right center for his third home run of the season. Rob Herzog threw a two hitter and struck out two. Souvenirs' final league game is Monday night on field three at Franklin Park.

08-04-2009: Winning 11 of the last 12 games, the Souvenirs improve to 12-6 on the season beating Top Hat 29-2. Eric Kelly(5-5;5R;4RBI;3B;BB;SB), Nick Petrie(5-5;5R;2 2B;HR;7RBI), Mike Kuck(2-2;4R;3RBI;3BB), and Taylor Contos(3-3;3R;3RBI;2BB) were perfect at the dish going a combined 15-15 driving in 17 of the 29 runs. The Souvenirs play Thumpers on Wednesday on Franklin 3 at 6:15 p.m.

08-01-2009: Souvenirs improve to 11-6 on the season and pull into a half game out of first place Wednesday night by beating league leader, Generals 40-5 (19-1;20-4) in a double header at Franklin Park. In game one Kevin Isherwood threw a 4 hitter allowing one run on 4 hits. Bob Kuck(3-3 3R 1BB) had the game winning RBI in the second on a single, the Souvenirs hammered out 9 more runs in the second capped by back-to-back home runs by Cris Coffield(2-3 2B;HR;4RBI;2SAC) and Cole J. Young(1-3 HR;RBI;2BB;2R). In the third three more runs were tagged on by Taylor Contos'(2-4;3RBI;HR) home run to left. Eric Kelly was 3-5 with a double, triple, and 4RBI's and Rob Herzog went 2-4 with 2 RBI at the dish. In game two the Souvenirs jumped out with six runs in the first, capped by Nick Petrie's(1-1;HR;HBP;5RBI) sac for the game winning RBI, Petrie also hit a Grand Slam in the third inning. Cris Coffield (3RBI;2B) was 3-4 with his second home run of the night and Brandon Bussard was 3-3 with a 3-Run Home Run putting the mercy rule in effect in the 4th inning. Mike Kuck was 4-4 at the dish with 5 RBI.

07-28-2009: Rob Herzog went 3-4 at the dish with an RBI a run scored and led off the bottom of the seventh with a triple to help the Souvenirs come back to win 9-8, improving to 9-6 on the season. Sam Chimenti had an RBI triple in the first to put the Yak up 2-0. In the bottom half Cole J. Young (2-4, BB, 2R, 2 RBI) hit his eighth home run of the season. The Souvenirs went up 3-2 in the second inning with a Brandon Bussard (3-4, 2RBI, R) home run and a sac fly by Leonard Warren(0-3; RBI), scoring Nick Petrie(1-4 R). The top half of the third Sam Chimenti hit a 2-Run Home Run and the Souvenirs tied in the bottom half with a RBI single by Brandon Bussard. Rob Herzog hit an RBI single in the fifth to tie it at 5. Eric Kelly hit his 3rd Home Run of the season in the sixth to put the Souvenirs up one. In the top of the seventh the Yak scored two runs, Justin Ruegsegger hit a Home Run to lead the inning off and Sean Toombs had an RBI single. In the bottom half the Souvenirs lead off with Herzog tripple, Kevin Isherwood(0-2; 2BB; R) walked, Eric Kelly (3-5 2 RBI, 2 R HR) hit an RBI single, Taylor Contos(2-4 HBP) was HBP, Cole J. Young hit an RBI single, and Mike Kuck(3-4 R, RBI, BB) hit the game winning RBI single to score Eric Kelly.

07-23-2009: Kevin Isherwood picked up the win as the Souvenirs beat Gibliano Bros. 11-7 improving to 8-6 on the season. In the third inning the Souvenirs scored 7 runs, Eric Kelly hit his second Home Run of the season and had 3RBI's to get the inning going.
Cris Coffield (4-4) followed with a solo Home Run. Nick Petrie (3-3 with 3 RBI's) capped the inning off with a 2-run double and Taylor Contos stole home. Cole J. Young hit a 3-Run Home Run in the 6th. Grant Reeves and Brandon Mollet went deep for Gibliano Bros.

07-21-2009: Taylor Contos went 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBI's on a triple in the first inning to put the Souvenirs up for good, as they win 13-3. Mike Kuck went 4-4 at the dish and Cris Coffield went 2-3 with 3 RBI's and a Home Run. Rob Herzog struck out 3 on a 3 hitter.

07-15-2009: Souvenirs picked up its 6th win of the season with Rob Herzog going 4-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs while pitching a 3 hitter. Eric Kelly went 3-4 with a HR and Taylor Contos was 2-4 at the plate with a HR as well. Kevin Isherwood went 2-2 with 2 walks.

07-10-2009: Rob Herzog picked up the win Wednesday night with an outstanding pitching performance. Nick Petrie was 3-4 at the plate with a triple and a run scored. Brandon Bussard was 2-3 with a Home Run and 2 RBI. Steve Sebesta of the Yak hit a 2-Run Home Run in the top of the first. The Souvenirs improve to 5-6 on the season and take on the first place Generals 8:15 Monday night at Liberty Park and the Top Hat Wednesday July 15 at Garry.

07-07-2009: Kevin Isherwood allowed 7 runs, 3 earned to pick up the victory Monday night. In the top of the 6th inning the Souvenirs put up 3 runs to go ahead 6-3 capped by a 2-run double by Bob Kuck. In the bottom half 2 runners reached by error and a walk to Ryan Corgliano loaded the bases for Jason Kostelecky, who deposited a 1-0 pitch over the right center field fence for a grand slam. In the top of the seventh the Souvenirs came back with 18 runs on 12 Hits, 5 BB, 1HBP, and 14 consecutive runs without recording an out. Bob Kuck was 3-5 with 3 doubles and six RBI's. Mike Kuck was 4-5 with a 3B and 4 RBI. Brandon Bussard went 3-5 4 RBI and Eric Kelly, 5-6 5R 2 doubles and 2RBI. Souvenir season stats through ten games here.

07-01-2009: Jim Robinson threw a 2 hitter allowing one run over 5 innings handing the Souvenirs there 6th loss of the season. Eric Kelly scored the only run for the Souvenirs.

06-29-2009: Souvenirs picked up there 3rd win (3-5) with a 20-5 victory over the Top Hat. Sean Clark hit a Grand Slam for the Top Hat. Taylor Contos was 4-4 3 RBI, Brandon Bussard 5-5 5RBI, and Mike Kuck was 4-4 with 2 RBI. Kevin Isherwood picked up the win.

June 25 2009: Souvenirs topped the Generals 20-13 led by Rob Herzog's pitching and going 3-5 at the plate with 4 RBI. Cole J. Young was 4-4 with 6 RBI and 2 doubles. Bob Kuck was 3-4 with 3 RBI's.

June 22 2009: Souvenirs lost another tough battle14-13 to the Yak, falling to 1-5 on the season. Rob Herzog pitched outstanding allowing 5 earned runs. The Souvenirs have continued to struggle defensively committing 5 errors in the field. Justin Ruegsegger was 3-4 with a Home Run for the Yak. Nick Petrie hit a 3 run home run in the second to bring the score to 4-3. Brandon Bussard drove in Eric Kelly with a triple off the fence and Cole J. Young hit a 2-Run home run to put the Souvenirs up 6-4. In the 4th Mike Kuck went deep with a two run home run scoring Young. Down by 4 in the seventh the Souvenirs put together 3 runs on an RBI single by Eric Kelly and a 2-Run bomb by Cole J. Young, falling short 14-13. The Souvenirs take on the Generals Wednesday night at 8:15 at Franklin on field 2.

June 18 2009: Gibliano Bros. scored 4 unearned runs in the top of the first and never trailed as they beat the Souvenirs 12-7 behind a great pitching performance by Wade Liberty who struck out 8 batters. Eric Kelly was 3-5 with 3 runs scored and Cole J. Young was 2-4 with a Home Run.

June 16 2009: Souvenirs dropped to 1-3 in a hard battle with Thumpers. Jim Robinson allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and struck out 3. Rob Herzog allowed 1 earned run, a 4 run 4th inning by Thumpers was capped by a 3B by Mike Rizz. Cole J. Young went deep for the Souvenirs.

June 12 2009
: The 2009 All-Star games were very successful last night. Spokane City Slow Pitch and Modified leagues took part in seven inning games at Franklin Park. On field 2 Men's Major A battled to the final out of the seventh inning. The Nationals won 10-8 behind a great pitching performance from the Souvenirs' Rob Herzog (6IP 2ER 2K 4H). In the bottom of the first the Nationals with players from the Top Hat, Yak, and Souvenirs; got on the board with a double by second baseman Brandon Bussard (4-4 2B 4RBI 2R) scoring lead off hitter and short stop Eric Kelly(2-4 3B 3R).  In the second inning the American League, comprised of all stars from Gibliano Bros., Thumpers, and The Generals scored two runs on a Ryan Corgliano triple. In the bottom of the 2nd the game was tied on a Chuck Boomer (DH 1-1 2B RBI BB) double scoring B.J. Moffitt LF(2-3 R RBI). Ross Scudenrl (2-4 R 2RBI) scored Connor Finerty (1-3 2R) on an RBI single in the top of the third.

In the bottom of the fourth Taylor Contos RF(1-2 R 2SB) lead off with an infield single and stole two bases to start an offensive attack for the National squad. Brandon Bussard hit a single scoring 2, third baseman Mike Kellogg (1-3 R RBI HBP) had an RBI single, catcher Cole J. Young (1-3 HR 3RBI R) hit a sac fly and B.J. Moffitt drove in Mike Kellogg with a triple. American league All-Stars came back in the top of the fifth with 2 unearned runs. In the bottom half with two outs, coming on two of Wade Liberty's nine strike outs on the evening, the National team put together 3 runs. Eric Kelly hit a triple to the fence, Brandon Bussard doubled, and Cole J. Young hit a 2-Run Home Run. In the bottom of the sixth Grant Reeves(0-2 HBP SAC) scored on a Colt McIntyre double. Kevin Isherwood came in to close the door in the seventh inning getting two quick outs. The American team battled with two down and scored 2 runs on 3 straight singles. Jason Kostelecky was 2-4 with a run and an RBI. The Naional League All-Stars prevailed 10-8.

Thank you to all the fans who came out to support, the umpires, announcers, concessions, and grounds crew for a very successful and enjoyable evening at the park.



June 11 2009: The Souvenirs got there first win against Top Hat Wednesday night 15-5. Eric Kelly went 4-4 with 2 RBI's and 4 runs scored. Kevin Isherwood pitched outstanding, giving up 5 runs, 3 earned and striking out 2. Taylor Contos hit a 2-run double to end the game in 5.



June 9 2009: The Generals pounded out 16 runs on Home Runs by Will Villafane and Collin French. The Souvenirs dropped to 0-2 after scoring 6 runs in the 1st the offense never was able to get back on track. Eric Kelly was 3-4 with 3 runs scored and Cole J. Young was 2-3 with a Home Run 2R and 3 RBI's



June 4 2009: On opening night Gibliano Bros., Thumpers, and the Screaming Yak prevailed. Gibliano Bros. won in the bottom of the seventh 10-9 on a Grant Reeves double, after trailing 9-0 going into the 6th innning. Thumpers ten ran Top Hat in the early game. The Yak's Joe Chimenti and George Bell both went deep to beat the Souvenirs 16-9. The Souvenirs Sean Carlson went 3-4 and catcher Mike Kuck hit a 2-run home run.
May 5 2009: The Souvenirs would like to thank all volunteers, vendors, and golfers for a successful 1st Annual Souvenir Golf Scramble. Following the scramble at Wandermere G.C. a lunch and giveaways took place at Fizzie Mulligan's, a special thanks to both of these venues for a great staff and hospitality. The Souvenirs look forward to making the next event a success, if you have any suggestions or want to be involved with next years fundraiser please contact Kristen A. Young at 509-209-0593. April 25 2009: The Souvenirs finalized the 2009 roster today by adding longtime Major A pitcher Rob Herzog. Rob will be a huge addition on the rubber this year, with great command of several pitches and an intimidating presence on the mound, he will continue to dominate opposing hitters. Steve Warren (OF) will be joining the Souvenirs this year as well. Steve played for us in 2005 and will play all outfield positions with great speed on the base paths.


Mar. 12 2009: The Souvenirs finalized their coaching staff for the 2009 Nationals in West Palm Beach, FL. Current commissioner and long time softball player and coach in the Spokane area, Fuzzy Buckenberger will help the Souvenirs as they go for their first National title. Terry McIntyre, player/ manager for the Screaming Yak Men's modified/fast pitch softball team in Spokane will be a bench coach as well.

Feb. 23 2009: The Souvenirs would like to thank all of you for our successful Bowling-4-Bucks event at North Bowl. 15 teams of 4 took part in our tournament at a chance to win $200 in cash and over $120 in rare coins. 1st prize went to Eric Kelly(SS), Keven Rogers, Gale Dahl, and Alex Dahl. 2nd prize went to Kevin Isherwood's (P) team he was joined by Terry Isherwood, Ernest Wickert, and Aaron Walkup. 3rd place was taken by Joey Bell (P/3B), Terry McIntyre, Kevin Petty, and Chad Brittain. click below for pictures of the event

Feb. 16 2009: Sean Carlson added to the league and tournament roster. Sean will be DH/3B for the upcoming season. The Souvenirs hope to add one to two more players for league play.

Feb. 12 2009: Men's Major A division league format and tournaments have been established. League will be 20 games played on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting June 3rd. There will be a pre season tournament on May 9-10 and an All Star game on July 10th, 3 players from each team will be represented in a 7 inning game. The Souvenirs will be holding an open roster/ open division Showcase tournament the weekend of July 31-August 2, 3 game guarantee. Spokane City Major A tournament will be held on August 15th. Feb. 9 2009: On the final weekend in its 40th running of snowshoe softball, the Grinders prevailed as Champs. Going undefeated, they upset Grant Reeves and Jerry's Coins for the championship on Sunday. Earlier that day Joey Bell and Maxwell House took on Jerry's Coins and lost 6-1. Chris Coffield and last years champions, R&B's were eliminated on Saturday by Jerry's Coins as well. Pics will be available soon.

Jan. 21 2009: Joey Bell and Maxwell House came from behind to beat Perry's Pirates in the first game on Saturday. After scoring 4 runs in the first the Pirates were never able to get there offense going again, losing 8-5. Later that day Joey and his team advanced to the Championship weekend, Perry's Pirates were knocked out by Jerry's Coins. 3 Souvenir's; Chris Coffield(R&B's), Joey Bell (Maxwell House), and Grant Reeves (Jerry's Coins) go for the championship in the 40th anniversary of the snowshoe softball tournament on the 7/8 of February. Jan. 14 2009: Saturday February 21st from 12:30-3:00 the Souvenirs will be holding a Bowling tournament at North Bowl. $20 per person includes 3 games, shoe rental, and over $660 in prize money and giveaways. 50/50 raffle and Bowl-A-Thon to help fund expenses for the upcoming season. Come out with friends and family to help support the Souvenirs. Directions here. Registrations available upon request. 

Jan. 11 2009: Chris Coffield helped R&B's go 3-0, advancing them into the Championship weekend of softball on the weekend of February 7/8.

Jan. 3 2009: Spokane Park Board Approves Softball Complex. Approved by voters with an overwhelming 68.1228% “yes” vote, this $42.9 million bond issue will fund the construction and development of a variety of aquatics and sports projects throughout the City of Spokane. Phase 1 will include softball and soccer fields, a skateboard park, a BMX bike course, play equipment, trails and improved parking. Softball fields at Joe Albi will become available in late summer of 2009. more info here.
Dec. 29 2008: The tentative date for the 2009 First Annual Souvenir Golf Challenge fundraiser is set for 8 a.m. on May 2nd at Wandermere Golf Course. 
                                                   

Dec. 7 2008: 5 Souvenirs will take part in the 40th Annual Snowshoe softball tournament in Priest Lake, ID.  January 17/18 and February 7/8. Brandon Bussard, Cole J. Young, Eric Kelly, and Kevin Isherwood will play for 2008 runner up, Perry's Pirates. Chris Coffield will be playing for R & B's the 2008 Champions.   

                                                                                                                 

Nov. 21 2008: 2008 MVP named: Mike Kuck's leadership behind the plate and strong bat leads the Souvenirs to a 36-4 overall record and league championships in the summer and fall.        


Oct. 17 2008: Brandon Bussard, Cole J. Young, Taylor Contos, and Travis Young of the Souvenirs played for Tap it Home in the West Coast Slow Pitch World Softball League Nationals in Reno, NV. Brandon Bussard helped them to a 17th place finish with his outfeild play and bat, hitting a go ahead Grand Slam in their loser out game against Hawaii.
