Spike's Spokane Souvenir's Showcase Schedule, Scores, and Stats


08-15: Spike's Spokane Souvenir Showcase Men's Fastpitch Tournament Aug 17-18!

Spokane Fastpitch will be holding the first Men's Fastpitch tournament this weekend in over 25 years. For the last 8 years Terry McIntyre and Dave Perry sponsored and managed the Spokane Generals/ Northwest Naturals/ Spokane Souvenirs traveling around the country playing in tournaments to get a taste of the best softball out there. For years Spokane was the mecca for Men's world class Fastpitch and Modified Fastpitch. Today the city struggles to get a handful of competitive modified teams for the rec department. The Spokane Fastpitch community is very excited to start what is in hopes to be an annual event and grow into one of the top destinations for Fastpitch teams each and every summer. This years tournament is being held as a tune up for Nationals which will be held in Salem, OR this year from August 29-September 1, 2013. Spokane's team is unable to make the trip to Salem this year, however, several Souvenirs will be competing in the tournament.

The first annual Spokane Souvenir Showcase will consist of four teams, Press Box of Missoula, MT/ K- Club Fastpitch. Frank Hendrix is the Commissioner of Missoula Fastpitch and Manager/Player for Bonner Boys who are finishing there successful 2013 season in Spokane with a few of K-Club's players who are fresh off their 2013 Seattle Invite Championship.  The Northwest Naturals of Yakima, WA are Managed and led by pitcher Mark Seward. The Boise River Dogs of Southern Idaho will be led by Greg and Shane Alder, and the host; Spokane Souvenirs. The tournament format will be a round robin Saturday for Championship Sunday seeding. The tournament will be a 5 game guarantee with an All-Tournament team of 12 Players, Most Valuable Hitter, Most Valuable Pitcher, and Gold Glove Awards. 07-22: Spokane's Men's Fastpitch team takes Moe Smith: 4 years straight
Spikes Souvenirs went 5-0 in Missoula for its fourth consecutive Championship. On Saturday pool play the Souvenirs were led in game one by Dominic Mahutu-Mason 2-2 with a Grand Slam and 6 RBI's winning 15-0, Shane Arndt picked up the W with a one hitter. Mark Anderson was phenomenal at 3B. In game two the Souv's won 8-5, Terry McIntyre led the offensive attack going 2-4 with a double, home run, and 3 RBI; Jim Robinson picked up the win.  Game 3 was a 15-0 rout, Mike Koentopp went 4-4 with a Home Run and 4 RBI as Wade Liberty dominated the opponent giving up one hit. As the one seed going into Sunday, Spokane won game one in the bottom of the seventh. Souvenir's were up 3-0 after 5, Despo of Missoula came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th on a 3-run blast off of starter Wade Liberty. In the 7th the Souvenirs rallied for 3 runs all coming with two outs capped by Ross Scuderi's 2 run single. Jim Robinson came out for the bottom of the seventh with a 1-2-3 inning. In the Championship the Souvenirs took on Havre, MT for the third straight year, winning 7-4. Shane Arndt pitched the complete game for the tournament MVP honors. Cole J. Young was 3-4 in the finale with an RBI double, 2-run triple, and a 2-Run Home Run.


07-08: Spokane's Modified team is 4-2 going into week 9:
Spikes Souvenirs take on Pig Dog's Tuesday July 9 for soul possession of first place at 6:30 on Franklin #2. Game one last week vs. Budget Blinds Blue Jays is suspended in the 6th at a 10-10 tie. In the night cap the Souvenirs won 15-7 over Garco Construction, Kevin Isherwood picked up the Win. Kyle Look had 4 hits and Cole J. Young homered. Satellite Diner is in third place at 3-2, Budget Blinds 1-3-1, Garco 2-5.  League Standings here.

06-06:Spokane's Fastpitch team takes 2nd in Toppenish, WA.

The Spokane Souvenirs won game 1 against host Action towing 8-5, Jim Robinson picked up the win. In game two the Souvenirs lost 4-2 in the seventh to Cleon's. In the night cap Boise Riverdogs shut out Spokane 5-0. Sunday morning Jim Robinson picked up the Win 9-2 over K-Club, Cody Wagner was 3-3 at the plate with 2 RBI's. Cole J. Young was 4-4 with 3 RBI's. In the semi-final Spokane took on Boise, winning 7-6. Mike Koentopp homered for the Souvenirs. In the Championship the Lacey A's routed the Souvenirs 8-0, Rob Gunter picked up the win and Most Valuable Pitcher Award. The Souvenirs Cody Wagner was tournament Most Valuable Hitter going 12-17.

05-20: Souvenirs Fastpitch runner up in Columbia Basin Invite:

Spokane went 1-2 on Saturday getting routed by host K-Club in the night cap, 8-1. On Sunday morning Wade dominated Cleon's going 5 strong in a 7-0 win. In the Semi-final the Souvenirs came back with 3 in the 5th on a Steve Sebesta Home Run. With it tied in the top of the seventh Cole J. Young drove in Sebesta for the go ahead. Jim Robinson shut the door in the seventh as the Souvenirs headed to the Championship against JRW, who they defeated Saturday morning 3-2. Spokane lost 8-2 to JRW in the Championship, Tim Roinstad led JRW in hitting and Sam Aldridge was tournament MVP. press release here.

05-17: Souvenirs Fastpitch Head to Moses Lake in the K-Club Invite:
 Spokane coming off a second place finish in Las Vegas head to Moses Lake in the first tournament in the NW Fastpitch league circuit. The Souvenirs take a full squad to the local tournament, opeining against JRW of Yakima at 10am and Cleon's of Seattle in game two. At 4 o'clock the Souvenirs take on the host team K-Club at 4pm. The Souvenirs Spike's Modified team opens league Tuesday May 21 @ Franklin Park.

04-19: Souvenirs Take 2nd @ Las Vegas Road Trip IV:

Spokane won game one versus Indiana Elite on Jim Robinson's arm 4-2. In the night cap of the winners bracket Spokane fell behind Maccabi USA 4-0 and was able to climb back with homers by Cody Wagner and Cole J. Young, but fell short 5-4. In the Semi-Final Dominic Mason shut down Indiana Elite who climbed out of the losers bracket with a 4-1 record on Saturday. Nick Leva and Mike Koentopp led the offense. : Las Vegas Road Trip VI:
The Souvenirs are less than a month away from 2013's first tourney in Las Vegas held April 13-14. Spokane will be competing in the A Major division opening with a bye. Roster will include: Pitchers Shane Arndt and Jim Robinson, P/OF Dominic Mahutu-Mason, Infielders; Mark Anderson, Terry McIntyre, Mike Koentopp, Nick Leva, Collin French and Cole J. Young. Outfielders Ross Scuderi, Cody Wagner, and Matt Martin. Utility players Aimee Fitting and Mackenzie McIntyre.

02-05:Championship weekend Snowshoe 2013:
The tournaments #1 seeds, Strick's and Maxwell House were knocked out on day one. Buc's opened and lost to Northern Star who would end up in the Championship together on Sunday. Bucs' Wade Liberty shut down Northern Star for two straight games. In the opener tied 4-4 the game went 8 innings and was won on a Joe Cushner liner to right. Game 2 Buc's won 9-0. Congratulations to Souvenir's Brandon Bussard, Cody Wagner, Cole James Young, Collin French, and Wade Liberty.

01-22Second weekend of Snowshoe Results: 
Maxwell House took first place, Grinders second & Bucs(pictured) 3rd.

Strick's and Maxwell House will have byes for Championship weekend. Grinders will open vs Miller Lite and Buc's vs Northern Star. 

01-16: First weekend Snowshoe Softball Results:
Strick's took first place and will have a bye championship weekend. Northern Star came in second and Miller Lite, third(pictured below).

01-05: 44th Annual Snowshoe Softball
The tournament will start January 12th and 13th with 6 teams, top three finishers will move on. The Grinders Young Gun's is a new team this year will be opening against Miller Lite. Strick's last years Champions(pictured below)  along with Mike's Power Sports will be getting the bye. On field two Absolute Edge will be opening the weekend vs. Northern Star. Squirrel's dropped out this year after playing in 21 events. 

The second weekend Maxwell House and May's Construction will open with a bye. Field one will be Millie's vs Grinder's and on field two Screaming Yak vs. Buc's of Hillyard. Top three on each week will meet for the Championship on February 2-3.

11-17: Spokane Fastpitch Club will begin fundraising for 2013 in Feb.
Spokane will be holding a Spaghetti feed, Bowling and Poker Tourney, and a Slow Pitch Softball Tournament. Money raised will help the team attend multiple tournaments in the NW before heading to Salem, OR for ASA Nationals from August 29th to September 3rd. Tournaments will begin with the Las Vegas Road Trip; Las Vegas, NV: April 12-14; Columbia Basin Invite; Moses Lake, WA: May 11-13; Yakima Invite; Richland, WA: June 7-8; Rose Cup; Portland, OR: TBD; BiG Rock Invite; Mt Vernon, WA: TBD; Moe Smith; Missoula, MT: July 19-21; Seattle Invite; Fife, WA: July 26-28. 


08-22: Souvs rally back 7 down in the 6th for 11 run inning W 18-14

Budget Blinds came out of the gates with back to back to back homers in the bottom of the 1st to go up 4-0. Sean Clark came in to pitch for the Souvenirs in the 4th to pick up the win. Souvenir's were down 10-3 in the 6th and came through with an eleven run inning to take the lead. 14-10. The inning was capped by a bases clearing double by Alex Spanos(4-4;2R;2B;3B;BB;4RBI). Souvenirs finished off the season 9-1 for the 6th straight summer championship. Mike Koentopp was 2-5 with triple a home run and 2 rbi's, Jason Hasenoehrl was 4-5 with 2 rbi's on a home run and a triple. Cole J. Young was 4-4 with a BB and 3 home runs driving in 6.

08-09:10 Homers lift Souv's to 6th Consecutive Summer Title
Kevin Isherwood picked up the win in Spike's 8th win of the season and the clincher for the Summer Championship. Mike Koentopp led of his second straight game with another home run. Corey Freuen(4-4;3R;2HR;5RBI) hit two home runs on the night. Nick Petrie hit his 3rd grand slam in as many games. Sean Clark hit 2 solo shots. Jason Hasenoehrl hit a solo, Kyle Look hit a 2-run and a 3-run shot. Cole J. Young hit a 2-run left handed shot in the 3rd.

08-02:
Koentopp Drives in 5 on 2 HR's; Ish improves to 7-0
Mike Koentopp(4-5;4R;2HR;3B;5RBI) led the game off with a solo shot and Sean Clark(1-4;2R;HR;BB;RBI) followed with a drive to deep left field. In the 4th down 3-2, Spike's scored 5 capped by Koentopp's 2-run triple. In the 6th down 8-7 the Souvenir's came back yet again ...>


07-16: Spokane won its 3rd straight Moe Smith Invite
Spokane went 3-0 in pool play on Saturday to get a second seed. Game one was a 9-7 win, Dan Kolda picked up the win and Mike Koentopp homered. Game 2, Jim Robinson won with the help of Kevin Root's game tying homer, and the eventual game winning home run by Ross Scuderi. Game 3 Koentopp picked up the win 7-4 and Cole J. Young and Nick Leva who was 5-5 homered. On Sunday Jim pitched a gem, winning 12-1 in 5. Jim started game two and went 6 innings, while Dan Kolda picked up the win in the 8th inning on a 5-4 victory to put Spokane into the championship against Havre for the second straight year. Spokane won its 200th victory and the Championship 10-0 on Dan's one hitter, Cole J. Young was 2-2 with a walk and a Home Run in the second to put Spokane up 1-0.

07-10:
Ish 5 hitter; Young Homers Twice in 19-5 Win
Kevin Isherwood throws gem in 97 degree heat. Ish gave up 5 runs, 2 earned, on 5 hits over 4 innings while striking out 1. In the top of the third Eggers scored 5 runs on 4 hits, capped by a Tim Miller Grand Slam. The Souvenirs were led in hitting by Eric Kelly(3-3;3R;2 2B;3RBI) who doubled twice and drove in 3. Cole J. Young(3-3;3R;2HR;7RBI) who homered twice and drove in 7 runs. Kyle Look and Mike Koentopp also homered. Spike's has a bye next week. Mike Koentopp and Cole J. Young will head to Missoula Montana this weekend for the Moe Smith Invitational Fastpitch Tournament.


06-19: Souvenirs stay perfect with 25-24 win; 4-0
Spikes held off the Pig Dog's offense and closed the game by inducing a pop up with the bases loaded after an intentional walk. Kyle Look and Nick Petrie led the offense with 5 hits each. Petrie drove in 8 with 3 triples and Looker had 3 triples. Pitcher Kevin Isherwood helped his cause by going 4-5 with 4 runs scored.


06-12: Clark and Freuen lead offense for a 14-10 W, 1st Place @ 3-0 Spike's Souvenirs jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one on a 2-run homer by Sean Clark(2-4;2HR;3RBI;2R). Satellite went ahead 4-2 in the top of the 4th, Spike's came back with 3 in the bottom half. In the 5th Souvenirs took the lead for good Clark hit his second homer, Corey Freuen(2-3;3R;HR;BB;4RBI) hit a 2-run blast...>

06-04: Spokane Fastpitch Club went 1-3 in the Yakima Fruit Bowl. SS/3B Mike Koentopp led the offense going 8-13 with 3 doubles and two triples. Catcher Cole J. Young was 7-13 with a triple and a double. Spokane's next trip will be to Missoula July 13-15. pictures of the weekend are on

05-30: Souvenirs win 17-1
Ish cruises as EK and Boosie Lead Offensive onslaught
Souvenirs Win 17-1 in 5 innings led by Brandon Bussard(3-3, 2R, 2 RBI) and Eric Kelly(3-4; 3R, 3RBI). Kevin Isherwood(2-0) scattered 5 hits while striking out one and walking one. Kyle Look went 2-4 with a Home Run. Souvenirs will play June 5th vs. Budget Blinds at Merkel #1 at 8pm.


05-15: 2012 Summer Men's Modified
opened Tuesday night at Franklin Park and Merkel.

Clark drives in 4, Ish throws 5 hit shut out in opener
Spikes opened the 2012 season with a 11-0 win over Egger's Meats Tuesday night on Franklin #3. Sean Clark led the offense with a double and 4 RBI's. Kevin Isherwood(1-0) picked up his first win and scattered 5 hits over 5 innings, walking none and striking out 1.


05-14:2012 Columbia Basin Invite: Spokane went 2-3 taking 4th place in the 1st Annual K-Club Invite tournament at Paul Lauzier field in Moses Lake, WA. Spokanes 3 loses were to the 3rd place K-Club and twice to the Champions, Lacey A's. Jim Robinson picked up a Win and a Save, Will Villafane picked up a W as well. Spokane was led by Cody Wagner in hitting, Cody had 7 hits on the weekend and 3 RBI's.

 

 

2012 Men's Spokane Fastpitch Club: will open its season in Las Vegas at the Arizona Charlie's NAFA Nationals qualifier tournament April 13-15. 2011 Souvenirs Brandon Bussard, Mike Koentopp, Jim Robinson, and Cole J. Young will combine forces with the Spokane Generals. More info on Las Vegas Road Trip V.

2011 Summer Men's Fast-pitch Champions


08-11: Yak scores 4 in 6th for WIN; Souv's Summer Champs! Souvenirs were up early in final game of summer, but fell to the Yak 9-6. Mike Koentopp and Cole J. Young each had 3 hits and Sean Sullivan was 2-4 at the plate...>

08-09: Liberty K's 6 in WIN, Young hits Grand Slam Wade Liberty struck out 6 in 4 innings giving up 2 runs, one earned for the victory. Kevin Isherwood came in to shut down the Generals in the final two innings, Ish was 1-2 at the plate with a walk. Corey Freuen went 2-3 with two singles, two runs scored, and an RBI. Mike Koentopp was 2-2 with two singles...>

08-03: Young homers in 4-1 Win: Jim Robinson settled in to pick up the win after giving up a run in the bottom of the first. Mike Koentopp was 2-4 at the dish with two doubles and a run scored. Jim was 1-3 with the game winning RBI. In the seventh Cole J. Young hit a 2-run home run...>
